Common questions
How fast will a Level 2 charger charge my EV?
Level 2 charging at 240 V adds roughly 15–30 miles of range per hour - up to 8–12× faster than a standard wall outlet, depending on the charger model and your vehicle. Most EVs recharge fully overnight, in about 8 hours from empty.
Will it work with my car?
Yes. Spark AC chargers use the universal North American connector, which works with every EV and plug-in hybrid sold here. Tesla vehicles connect using the adapter that comes with every Tesla.
What does installation involve?
The plug-in model connects to any NEMA 14-50 outlet - no electrician required. Hardwired models should be installed by a licensed electrician; for a typical panel it’s a quick mount-and-wire job. Details on our installation page.
Are there rebates or grants for EV chargers?
Often, yes. Federal and provincial programs can cover a meaningful share of hardware and installation - the federal ZEVIP program, for example, funds up to 50% (max $5,000 per station) of eligible Level 2 installations. Start with our rebates guide.
What warranty comes with it?
Residential chargers carry a 5-year limited warranty; commercial units carry 2 years. Support comes from Soneil’s North American team.
Can it be installed outdoors?
Yes. Spark AC chargers are weather tested for rain, snow and dust, and rated for −30 °C to +50 °C, so they’re at home on a driveway wall in any season.
