Soneil Spark joins Canada Energy Storage & Grid Tech Roadshow

Soneil Spark has been selected by the Government of Canada’s Trade Commissioner Service (TCS) as one of 8–10 Canadian companies for the Energy Storage & Grid Tech Roadshow. The roadshow runs in the Southwestern U.S. (November 16 to 20, 2026) and Mexico City (November 23 to 25, 2026), with closed-door introductions to utilities, buyers, and public and private energy stakeholders. Our CEO, Sonya Jain, will lead Soneil Spark’s participation, bringing AC and DC charging, mobile EV charging and mobile battery storage.

What is the Energy Storage & Grid Tech Roadshow?

It’s a Trade Commissioner Service program that connects a small group of Canadian energy storage and grid technology companies with the people planning tomorrow’s power infrastructure. Instead of a trade show floor, the format is closed-door introductions: utilities, buyers, and public and private stakeholders meeting a short list of companies the TCS has selected.

We want to thank the Trade Commissioner Service in Los Angeles and Mexico, and the Consulate General of Canada in Los Angeles, for supporting Canadian businesses abroad.

Why does this selection matter?

Participation in the roadshow gives Soneil Spark an opportunity to connect with utilities, buyers and energy stakeholders through closed-door introductions. These conversations are about practical charging and power needs, from permanent EV charging infrastructure to mobile EV charging and battery storage for sites where grid access is limited or delayed.

What is Soneil Spark bringing to the roadshow?

We will highlight three areas of our charging and energy storage portfolio.

AC Level 2 and DC fast charging

For permanent sites, Soneil Spark offers AC Level 2 commercial chargers (40, 48 and 80 A) and DC fast charging up to 480 kW. This is the backbone of fleet charging: depots, workplaces and commercial sites where vehicles return every day. For EV fleet charging, AC Level 2 typically covers overnight dwell time, while DC fast charging covers quick turnarounds.

Mobile EV Charging Trailer (MCT)

The Mobile EV Charging Trailer is a self-contained mobile DC charger for temporary, remote or developing sites. It needs no grid connection at the point of use, so fleets and mobile EV charging service providers can charge vehicles while permanent infrastructure is still being built.

Mobile Battery Energy Storage System (Mobile BESS)

The Mobile BESS is a separate product with a different job. It’s a mobile battery energy storage system, available in four models up to 920 kWh, that brings stored power to a site.

It’s designed for four main uses:

  • Generator support: syncing with an existing on-site generator.
  • Backup power: keeping operations running during outages.
  • Peak shaving: covering short demand peaks that would otherwise strain a site’s supply.
  • Temporary power: adding capacity where the grid can’t yet support a site.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Energy Storage & Grid Tech Roadshow?

It’s a Government of Canada Trade Commissioner Service program that brings 8–10 selected Canadian companies to closed-door introductions with utilities, buyers and public and private energy stakeholders in the Southwestern U.S. (November 16 to 20, 2026) and Mexico City (November 23 to 25, 2026).

What is mobile EV charging?

Mobile EV charging brings charging to the vehicle instead of the vehicle to a fixed station. Soneil Spark’s Mobile EV Charging Trailer is a mobile EV charger that delivers DC charging without a grid connection at the point of use.

What’s the difference between the Mobile EV Charging Trailer and the Mobile BESS?

The Mobile EV Charging Trailer is a charger: it charges vehicles directly. The Mobile BESS is a mobile battery energy storage system (up to 920 kWh) for generator support, backup power, peak shaving and temporary power.

What is Level 2 charging?

Level 2 charging uses a 240-volt AC supply and can charge a typical EV overnight, according to the U.S. Department of Energy. Soneil Spark’s AC chargers run on 240 VAC single-phase at 40, 48 or 80A.

Where are Soneil Spark products engineered and assembled?
